Himesh repeats himself in Rocky |

Instead of Rocky-The Rebel, the title Himesh-The Recycler could work just as well. After all, not only has the composer come up with the soundtrack, he has practically sung all the tracks. Rocky is produced by the duo of Narendra and Shyam Bajaj, who gave us the whodunit Aksar. The score for the latter was also composed by Reshammiya. Starring Zayed Khan, Minnisha Lamba and Isha Sharvani, the music of Rocky is exactly what you expect it to be -- repetitive. It opens rather decently as Reshammiya and Amrita Kak (of Just Chill fame) play the field in the racy Junoon. A sure-shot chartbuster, it infects with its youthful verve. If only the subsequent tracks were as entertaining. Laagi chute na attempts to cash in on the success of the Aksar ditty, Laagi prem dhun laagi. However, Reshammiya's high-pitched croaking is just too much to handle. Also it's too fast-paced for its own good and employs a generous usage of sarangi to grating effect. After that, he dabbles with the harmonium in Teri yaad bichaake sota hoon. HR's characteristic screeching coupled with Tulsi Kumar's feeble squeals is a match made in hell for a tune already so raucous. Rocky rock the world tries to be an inspirational song about a man triumphing against all odds. It never goes beyond trying though, because it substitutes drama with insipidity and melody with an army of instruments. Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham is quite upbeat these days. With Taxi No: 9211, and Zinda doing well at the box office, the year 2006 has been lucky for John. And yet another movie that this handsome actor is quite excited about is Kabul Express, slated to hit the screens this year. In New Delhi this past week for the promotion of Pepsi Diet, John, its brand ambassador, says, "Shooting for Kabul Express was a different experience." While shooting for this movie, he "realised what difficult roles journalists need to play," he says. The film, directed by Kabir Khan, is set in post 9/11 Afghanistan. The movie traces a 48-hour car drive in the war-ravaged country. While John plays a TV director in the film, his co-star Arshad plays a cameraman. Though Garam Masala, released around Diwali last year, had been well received by the audience, John still thinks he was not so great in it. "My comic role in Garam Masala was not easy and I think I need to improve," he states. Always eager to experiment with different roles, John though adds, "I have no dream role as such." `John Aur Kaun' Also, he will soon be seen on television, thanks to the children's channel, Hungama TV's talent hunt, John Aur Kaun. The child winner of the talent hunt will get a chance to work with John in an UTV-produced movie. After Hyderabad, the short-listing of candidates for the hunt is on in Delhi this Saturday. Fascination for fitness and bikes being common knowledge about John now, a chat with the actor is not complete without raising these topics. Asked to give his fitness mantra, he says concisely, "Good food, good sleep and right work-out." Two actresses who are quite fit in Bollywood, he feels, are Bipasha Basu and Esha Deol. And what about bikes? "I love them more than driving," he answers. Talking about his role as a brand ambassador for Pepsi Diet, the style icon says, "I am a responsible person and choose products for endorsement sensibly." Though he adds, "Not just aerated drinks but too much of anything is bad but today's youths are smart, they can make right judgements." But he doesn't approve of the advertisements of aerated drinks being aired on kids' channels.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are currently in Bagalkot, North Karnataka, shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Guru. The area is also the location of historical sites like Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal. Abhishek plays the role of a legendary hero of the 1857 Mutiny. While they were shooting for the film, the duo also visited the historical monuments. And they were certainly very impressed. Aishwarya was seen wearing a sari and taking in the beauty of her surroundings. It was no easy task for the production team to get permission to shoot in these areas. The Archaeological Survey of India authorities were apprehensive because shooting in the areas would attract a lot of crowds, which could prove to be detrimental for the monuments. However, finally they relented. The shooting began under tight security. Thousands of people thronged the area to catch a glimpse of the stars. However, they were not able to do so since the police had cordoned off the area. But the crowds were determined and climbed the tops of trees for a dekko! Apart from Ash and Abhishek, Guru also stars Mallika Sherawat. However, she was not present in Bagalkot as she didn’t have any scenes there.

India-Indian actress Esha Deol says her new movie "Ankahee" or "Unsaid" showed her the perils of falling in love with a married man, a newspaper reported Monday. Her advice for any woman in that position was to get out and find someone else, Deol told The Times of India newspaper. She said it was a disturbing experience for her to play a beauty queen who falls in love with a doctor with a wife and child. The movie is set for release next month. "Being the other woman is a very unhappy situation to be in and I wouldn't want to be in that situation ever," Deol said adding she'd like to tell women, "Don't go for second best." She said she was emotionally drained after tense scenes on the sets where she would need to scream and become hysterical. Deol said her character doesn't care what the world thinks of her and doesn't bother about the doctor's family. Deol has acted in more than 15 Indian movies, her most recent blockbusters were "Dhoom" or "Big Bang" and "Yuva" or "Youth." Her family is well known in India's movie business - her parents are veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini and her stepbrother is Bobby Deol.
