Ranvir Shorey is glad. After a tremendous 2006 [KHOSLA HA GHOSLA, PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS, MIXED DOUBLES], he is now enjoying a great start to 2007 with immense appreciation for his conman-in-day-and-drug-addict-in-night act in just released TRAFFIC SIGNAL. So how does it feel? "I am quite happy actually. It was interesting to see the way Madhur visualized the entire subject and made a film like this that was so different and yet so entertaining", he says in a composed tone. His character has perhaps got the most appreciation by critics and junta alike. Isn't that the case? "If it is so then great", he says honestly, "but I feel that each character in the film was so well written. Be it Kunal, Neetu, Konkana or even the child artist who played Tsunami ? each of them had such a well defined role that it was difficult not to get noticed." …
So how is his new project AAJA NACHLEY with Madhuri Dixit shaping up? "The shooting is going on fine", he divulges, "It is great to be working with Madhuri. She is a legend and the best part is that she hasn't come with any airs around her. She maintains good vibes on the sets and hasn't made me feel as someone who has just started making my presence felt in the industry." Can he talk a little about his role? "Well, the world knows that in Yash Raj Films, we are bound by contract and hence can't quite speak about our projects. In fact I won't quite like to do that even for projects where I am not bound by a contract. I feel that one would loose the fun of watching a film if too much is known about it well in advance." Ok, so let's not talk too much about it but can he give some bytes at least about his role? Does he share frame with Madhuri? "Yes, I do. I play a man who is in love with Madhuri. What happens next? Well, watch the film!" ….read more
